A citizen-run civic forum, since 2014.
Bridging citizens and authorities.
Founded in 2014 by Advocate Trivankumar Karnani, a Bombay High Court criminal-litigation lawyer, MNCDF began as a community-service platform that used the knowledge of law to help ordinary citizens be heard.
It grew into a strong link between Mumbaikars and their elected representatives, including MPs, MLAs and Municipal Corporators, and between citizens and the civic bodies that serve them. The forum highlights the progress of constituencies across the city and carries citizen recommendations to the authorities who can act on them.
MNCDF also provides pro bono legal assistance to underprivileged citizens, so that no common person goes unheard.
The MNCDF Flying Squad.
In 2018, Advocate Karnani launched the MNCDF Flying Squad, made up of proactive citizens from every walk of life: lawyers, professionals, employees, entrepreneurs, chartered accountants, doctors, police, journalists and more.
Spread across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, the squad's main purpose is the detection of any issue that concerns the public interest. Its work has been acknowledged and appreciated by the Hon'ble Governor of Maharashtra.
